Over 80 contestants will take part in the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, Russia on Saturday night.

Started in 1952, the international competition currently has 86 contestants form countries around the world. The woman will be judged on their performance in three different areas - swimsuit presentation, evening gown presentation, and an interview - in order to select one who can "personify the combination of beauty and intelligence that defines the 21st century," according to the International Business Times.

This year's hosts are Mel B (America's Got Talent) and Thomas Roberts (MSNBC Live). The fate of the competitors lies in the hands of Carol Alt, Italo Fontana, Philip Kirkorov, Tara Lipinski, Nobu Matsuhisa, Farouk Shami, Anne V, and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Last year's 61st rendition of the event took place at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The 2012 Miss Universe, Leila Lopes of Angola, was on hand to crown her successor, Olivia Culpo of the U.S.

Culpo was the eighth winner from the U.S., and this year's American candidate is Erin Brady of Connecticut, the current Miss America winner.

Viewers can stream the event on the Miss Universe site or watch on NBC starting at 9 p.m. ET.
