Austin Hebert, who stars as Deputy Sheriff Ted Hinton in Bonnie and Clyde, spoke with EnStars about his role in the mini-series and the close-knit bond between his costars.

"The cast was great. We kind of became a family on set," he said at the Lone Survivor premiere, held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City, on Tuesday. "We all bonded really quickly and we all grasped the material really quickly."

When Hebert wasn't filming, the Texas native said he even went fishing with costar Lane Garrison, who plays the brother of Clyde, Buck Barrow.

"Everywhere we shot there was like a big pond," he said. "We really countrified it up and brought our fishing poles on set. It was fun."

The mini-series is based on the true story of Clyde Barrow (Emile Hirsch) and Bonnie Parker (Holliday Grainger), two lovers who embarked on one of the most infamous bank-robbing missions in history.

Hebert's character was one of the law enforcers who worked diligently to detain the couple. The actor said he could sympathize with his character's devotion to his task.

"I was able to relate to a guy with a lot of pride for his job," Hebert, who interviewed Hinton's son to prepare for the role, said.

The actor, who also has appeared on True Blood and Vegas, filmed daily with William Hurt, an experience he deemed "great." Hurt plays Texas Ranger Frank Hamer on the show.

"I'm really excited," Hebert said about the mini-series. "I've seen it. It's great."

Bonnie and Clyde airs Sunday, Dec. 8 and Monday, Dec. 9 on A&E, Lifetime and History at 9 p.m. EST.
