From movie castings to some of the most talked about celebrity births, 2013 was packed with entertainment stories that captured headlines across the world.

Miley Cyrus went from innocent Disney star Hannah Montana to a twerking queen remembered for her controversial performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The year was filled with young stars just like her grabbing the spotlight with two, in fact, being infants: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's child North West, and heir to the throne Prince George.

Celebrities faced huge publicity scandals in 2013 that rocked their careers. Two that were reported perhaps the most often was Paula Deen's racial remarks and Phil Robertson's anti-gay comments. There was also Justin Bieber's numerous scandals that put the attention on his antics rather than his music, and Jennifer Lawrence's stumble at the Oscars.

Movies and music also stirred controversy and became center stage in 2013. Casting for Fifty Shades of Grey hit a roadblock when its lead actor backed out of the film and Robin Thicke made some people not so happy with his highly sexualized music video for Blurred Lines.

Take a look at the top 10 most popular entertainment stories of 2013, compiled by Enstars.
