Jamie Lynn Spears was dining with a friend at Pita Pit in Louisiana in late December when a fight erupted. In the surveillance video shared by TMZ on Tuesday, the 23-year-old was seen grabbing a knife from behind the store counter, screaming and pointing it at those fighting. Moments later, the crowd dispersed. According to news reports, the mother of one was simply trying to rescue her friend from the brawl.

Although we can't hear what was said in the video, the owner of the specific location, Jack J. Brighenti, spoke a bit about the unexpected incident.

"I have been with Pita Pit for several years, and have never seen anything like this before," he told E! News. "The events that happened occurred after 2 a.m. this past Saturday night just before we closed. A group of males got into an altercation and for some reason Jamie Lynn Spears ran behind the counter and picked up a bread knife."

He added: "Our management called the police immediately and thankfully nothing else happened. Our passion and focus is and always will be to serve the Hammond community healthy pitas!"
