Last night's Miss USA 2012 pageant saw beauty Olivia Culpo beat 50 beautiful women to the coveted title and crown. Perhaps the most important part of the pageant that determined the winner was the brief interview each of the top five contestants had with a celebrity judge.

Culpo, who describes herself as a nerd, was asked a Twitter question which came from one of pageant followers via the social media channel. Rob Kardashian asked Culpo: "Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?"

The question could have stumped some ladies but Culpo did not hesitate to respond: "I do think that that would be fair.. but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women. But today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it's a free country."

Some viewers expressed that Culpo was posed with the most difficult question among the five. However, Culpo pulled it off -leading to a round of applause from the audience.

According to Fox News, when asked whether she was put off by the question when she first heard, it she said: "This is a free country and to each their own."

Olive Culpo, 20, is currently a sophomore at Boston University.
