She Wolf singer Shakira discussed the hard work she put into her latest album and what it was like to work with Rihanna.
Shakira released a single called Can't Remember to Forget You, featuring the R&B star, which was released on Jan. 13, 2014.
"It's very reggae and has a lot of vintage feel at the same time," Shakira said in an interview with VEVO posted on YouTube. "And that's why I thought that Rihanna would be the perfect feature in this song."
Shakira then went on to describe the We Found Love singer's talent.
"Her voice in this song is just unreal. Cause she is reggae," Shakira said.
The Hips Don't Lie singer then discussed the difficult process of creating an album, while doing other work and taking care of her baby.
"It took me a while to get to a point where I was completely happy about this album and sure about every song in it," the singer said. "I always suffered through my creative process because it just takes time. It's been hard to make an album with so many distractions like having a baby in between and having to come back to America so many times to do 'The Voice.'"
"I just love what I do and that's why I keep doing it," the singer continued. "I love music and I love proving myself with every new album that I can still do it."
Shakira gave birth to son Milan Jan. 22 of last year. He is her first child with boyfriend, Gerard Pique. The singer is expected to release her new album - her 10th studio album and the first English-language project since 2009's 'She Wolf' - on March 25, 2014.
