At least one person in Port Charles is trying to prove Franco's (Roger Howarth) innocence, but the move could still be too late to save Carly (Laura Wright) on General Hospital.

General Hospital: Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014

Kiki (Kristen Aldersen) is the only person who believes Franco is innocent and had nothing to do with Carly's disappearance and possible murder, and in a preview clip for the Friday, Jan. 31 episode, she will head to the Miscavige Institute to question Heather (Robin Mattson).

"I'm here to see Heather Webber," she said in the clip.

However, while there, she will learn that Heather is not at the institute she was locked up in, and has indeed escaped. Once she knows this information, Kiki could possibly help Franco, who is the main suspect in Carly's disappearance.

Back in Port Charles, Franco is being questioned by Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), who believe he is guilty.

"Explain this," Anna said as Dante held up an evidence bag containing a bloody knife for Franco to see.

While investigating Carly's disappearance earlier, the knife was found in the trunk of Franco's car, leading the police to believe that he murdered Carly.

However, Carly was kidnapped by Franco's mother, Heather, who escaped from the institute and has been trying to kill Carly. She was nearly successful once, but Franco stopped her by stabbing her in the stomach and burying her when he believed she was dead. However, Heather was still alive and managed to successfully kidnap Carly. Because he son betrayed her, she is setting him up for her crimes, and once she knows he has been charged, she plans to go through with her plan to murder his girlfriend.

For now, when two young boys stumble on where Heather is keeping Carly captive, she will either scare them away or try to convince them to kill her by pretending she is the mythical creature they are trying to slay.

"You need to use this," Heather said in the clip as she pulled out a knife.
