In the coming episodes of Pretty Little Liars, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will be heading down a dangerous road as she continues to obsess over proving Ezra's (Ian Harding) identity as A.

The much anticipated film noir episode of Pretty Little Liars will feature Spencer hallucinating a new world in black-and-white, with the episode's style being filmed in the style of classic film noir.

PLL executive producer Joseph Dougherty told E! Online recently that Spencer's struggles are "very different from her troubles with Toby [Keegan Allen]." Spencer spends too many sleepless nights researching about Ezra and solving the mystery of Ali (Sasha Pieterse) and finally takes too many pills.

"Where Aria's [Lucy Hale] danger has always been being possibly too romantic, Spencer's danger may be being too analytical," Dougherty added.

E! Online also noted that the episode will make fans want to watch it multiple times, particularly for the scenes featuring Ali. The episode also features Spencer struggling with the idea of revealing "the truth," likely about Ezra, to Aria.

ABC Family released a behind-the-scenes featurette for the episode, titled Shadow Play.

The featurette contains a clip from the episode, in which Spencer tells Hanna (Ashley Benson) to "keep an eye on Ezra Fitz," to which Hanna replies that she was "born for the job." Both Bellisario and Benson use heavy film noir accents.

Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
