'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Trailer: Spoilers for Joffrey-Margaery Wedding, New Character & Dany's Dragons [VIDEO]
HBO released a 15-minute featurette for Game of Thrones season 4 on Sunday, revealing bigger dragons, an intriguing new character and more action than ever before.
The cable channel revealed Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing Sunday night, an in-depth look at the upcoming fourth season of the popular series. The featurette teases that season 4 will be the most action-packed season yet.
"It's more thrilling throughout than Season 3 was," says Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow. Series co-creator D.B. Weiss adds: "There are more climactic events in Season 4 than there have ever been before."
Season 4 will feature the wedding of King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), a wedding that has been described as the Purple Wedding. As seen in the featurette, the Purple Wedding will be very extravagant with tons of food and decorations. Fellow co-creator David Benioff says that the wedding takes up half the episode.
A new character will come to King's Landing in season 4, as teased by the featurette: Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal). Oberyn is invited to the wedding of Joffrey and Margaery and uses the invitation as a way of seeking out revenge.
Fans who enjoy Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) dragons will find them growing even bigger in season 4. Clarke says that the once cute baby dragons are now starting to become weary of their mother's protection.
Overall, Game of Thrones season 4 will be a redemptive season for some of the show's few remaining good characters.
"The good guys are coming back this year, and that's nice to see. We're making a stand," says Maisie Williams (Arya Stark).
Game of Thrones season 4 premieres Sunday, April 6 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
