Austin Basis, who plays JT on Beauty and the Beast, spoke about his character's feelings for Tess and hinted at a sudden twist in Vincent and Catherine's relationship, in a recent interview. 

Sam's Beast Leads Into A Deadly Battle With Vincent?

It seems like fans might finally get to see JT and Tess finally get it on in the show. Austin suggested that JT's strong feelings for Tess (Nina Lisandello) will be gratified soon enough. The actor said that it's only a matter of time before she "allows this nerd to let him into her butch-cop world."

"Our writers have a way of giving the fans what they want, but not necessarily the way fans want them," Austin said. "It's a give and a take. You can't write a show just by fans' whims, because then the artistic and creative aspect of the show becomes too communal. It's important to maintain the singular voice of the series."

A Jealous Vincent Attacks Gabe for Kissing Catherine?

While Basis knows about where his character's romantic future lies he also has a fair idea of where his friend, Vincent's (Jay Ryan) love for Catherine will be headed. He teased fans by suggesting that the relationship will arrive at some conclusion soon enough.

"The JT and Tess relationship, and the path that takes, will be fun for the audience... and sooner than they think, I think," Austin said.

He went on to give a few more details suggesting that Vincent will be rewinding some and reassessing his past which will actually contribute to a sudden twist in his relationship with Catherine.

"I don't want to compare it to anything Shakespearean, but it will definitely add a new dynamic that fans will enjoy," said of the relationship.

Beauty and the Beast airs on CW every Monday at 9/8 p.m. Central Time.
