UPDATE: GAME 1 - OKC Thunder Runs Past Miami Heat 105-94

The 2012 NBA Finals are set to get underway Tuesday night, with Game 1 between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The best of seven game series will commence with a home tie for the Thunder, and they will be hoping to take an early lead to give them the advantage for the rest of the series.

The Heat made it through to the NBA finals by defeating the Celtics 101-88 in Game 7. They relied heavily on LeBron James to get them through, however, and they will be hoping he stays on form tonight. James averaged 30.8 points and 9.6 rebounds.

Statistics confirm that James is a big game player; he has increased his scoring and rebounding in every round this postseason, and if that continues tonight the Thunder could be in trouble. James averaged 33.6 points and 11 rebounds in the Eastern Conference final.

The Thunder made it through to face the Heat by defeating the Spurs in the Western Conference final. Just as James was the hero for the Heat, Kevin Durant has equally been the main man for the Thunder. Durant, the NBA scoring champion has averaged 27.8 points throughout the postseason so far, and will be looking to match or increase that to inspire the Thunder in tonight's games.

Russell Westbrook has also been doing well and is averaging 21.7 points for Oklahoma City.

The Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder Game 1 is scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. ET and can be watched live on ABC.
