One of the new characters on The Walking Dead may be on his way out just as soon as he debuted.

Michonne, Rick & Carl Staying at the House Through Future Episodes?

Josh McDermitt, who plays new character Eugene on the current fourth season of the zombie drama, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and suggested that Eugene could be in danger of dying soon.

"I'm actually worried about watching the episodes we've already filmed because maybe they somehow shot some footage that I didn't know about where Eugene ends up dying and I'm going to find out when it airs!" he said. "I don't think there's any guarantees in any of this and that's what's scary about this show and what makes me appreciate this job."

Glenn & Maggie Wedding Coming Soon?

McDermitt also said that Eugene's backstory will be explored in full this season. In the Walking Dead comic book series, it is found out that Eugene is lying about everything, from his D.C. connections to his knowledge of the zombie outbreak cause.

The actor revealed that the possible revelation in the show could cause big consequences in his relationship with Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), despite the complexity of it.

"I don't know that he would enjoy beating up Eugene; there would be a lot more anger there," McDermitt said. "As Cudlitz likes to say, "Eugene is the package." Once that falls away, there's no telling what Abraham would do. He could kill Eugene."

The Walking Dead season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
