Casey Anthony admitted to be ashamed of the person she was in an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan on Tuesday.

Anthony spoke on the phone with the host of "Piers Morgan Tonight" but the conversation did not air on the show. Instead, Morgan read excerpts from the phone call.

"Well I mean, there’s obviously several misconceptions. Obviously I didn’t kill my daughter," 26-year-old Anthony said, according to Morgan.

"If anything there’s nothing in this world l’ve ever been more proud of, and there’s no one I loved more than my daughter. She’s my greatest accomplishment," she added.

Referring to her public image, Anthony told Morgan:

"It's horrible. It looks absolutely horrible, and I'm ashamed in many ways of the person that I was," Anthony said over the phone. "Even then, that wasn't who I am."

Anthony's lawyer Cheney Mason did appear on the show responding to her client's comments.

He said Anthony is staying at a secret location and is mostly reading books and watching TV and Movies.

Mason said she is currently reading "The Hunger Games," which Morgan noted, it is about killing children.

Anthony's lawyer said the books are just popular like "Harry Potter."

Anthonny was acquitted in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony in a case that shook the United States.

This is the first interview with mainstream media since her acquittal on the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony, 2 in July, 2011.
