The number of all-new episodes of How I Met Your Mother before the March 31 series finale continues to dwindle, but fans will see several loose ends tied up nicely before the show takes its final bow.
Fans have been wondering where Lily disappeared to in the middle of the night after her fight with Marshall during this season's 15th episode, Unpause. An answer was never given, and she quickly returned to Marshall's side and said she wasn't going to Rome any more, and they could stay in New York for his new position as a judge.
However, in a promo for episode 19, titled Daisy, her mysterious ride away from the inn could be revealed, as Marshall is seen arriving at the elaborate home of Lily's boss, The Captain (recurring guest star Kyle MacLachlan), and punching him in the face.
Considering Lily changed her mind about going to Rome, it is very likely she could have gone to the Captain's home to tell him she couldn't move, though Marshall's reasons for punching him could add a new twist to the mystery.
However, according to a synopsis for the episode, Chris Elliot is slated to return as Lily's wacky father Mickey as well, which opens the possibility that she could have sought him out for advice as well.
The official synopsis reads "Marshall enlists Ted and Barney to help him figure out where Lily went when she left in the middle of their fight."
The title of the episode has unleashed theories that "Daisy" will be the long-awaited reveal of the titular mother's name, though Carter Matt has squashed it due to the title being revealed far in advance. The website contends that producers would not have wanted such an important piece of information to be revealed so easily and without an element of surprise.
How I Met Your Mother continues with the Daisy episode on Monday, March 10 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
