The upcoming second season of Orange is the New Black will be focused on the ensemble rather than just Piper (Taylor Schilling).

New Episodes Feature "Shocking" Taystee Development?

Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan confirmed that season 2 will fully utilize its large ensemble rather than just focusing on the Piper, Alex (Laura Prepon), Larry (Jason Biggs) triangle, according to Glamour.

This news correlates with several of the show's recurring guest stars being promoted to series regulars ahead of season 2. New series regulars include Uzo Aduba, who plays "Crazy Eyes," Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee and Taryn Manning, who plays Pennsatucky.

Season 2 will also feature a slew of new characters. Lorraine Toussaint (Any Day Now) is set to guest star as a woman who owned a drug ring, in which she employed children. Additionally, Lori Petty (Tank Girl) will have a role in the new season, though there are no details known thus far about her character.

Glamour also reveals that Larry might be doing something bad with Piper in the new season. The report claims that Larry might take advantage of Piper and "does something a little questionable." Larry has gradually drifted apart from Piper since she was imprisoned, so this development shouldn't be too shocking.

As seen by the season 2 trailer, it looks like Piper will be getting tougher in the wake of her bloody altercation with Pennsatucky.

Orange is the New Black season 2 premieres in full on June 6 through Netflix Watch Instantly.
