Rumors continue to spreadi over who'll be the next to land a role on Star Wars: Episode VII, and the latest has been Zac Efron.

While attenting the 2014 Oscars last Sunday, the Neighbors star made a brief statement to TV personality Ryan Seacrest about the part of Jacen Solo, Darth Vader's grandson.

"Is it true? I don't even know yet," Efron told Ryan Seacrest.

"I guess the force is with me tonight," Efron joked.

It was recently rumored that the film's plot would be about twins. If that's the case, then it's possible that Efron could play one of these twins.

It was reported by Variety on Feb. 26 that Girls star Adam Driver was in close negotiations to play the villain, which could potentially be Darth Vader's grandson, and Han and Leia's son, Jacen Solo. But if Efron were to get a part, then that character might be for him.

Although Efron being attached to the Star Wars franchise is still up in the air, he did acknowledge to MTV on Feb. 1 that he indeed sat down with its creative brass.

"Yeah, I just went and met with them. So I don't know, it would be cool," Efron said.

"I love 'the Star Wars movies', I love them, but...who knows?"

It's also been rumored that a leading female role has been cast although it's unknown who the actress or character would be. Bleeding Cool revealed on Feb. 18 that word could sneak out soon on who it could be.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
