One of Hollywood's biggest A-list stars might be getting ready to star in season 2 of True Detective.

Season 2 Features "All Kinds Of Conspiracies" in Southern California?

Brad Pitt is reportedly under consideration for a role in season 2 of True Detective, according to a recent report by HollywoodLife.com.

"Brad's name has come up many times, it's just a matter of what his other commitments are," an insider claims in the report. "It's the show everyone wants to be on, because the writing and the roles are just so exquisite and complex. Brad has tight relations with HBO - he teamed up with Ryan Murphy last year to produce the HBO movie The Normal Heart. I know everyone would be thrilled to have him onboard."

Matthew McConaughey Talks Possibility of Returning

True Detective became a hit with critics and audiences over the course of its eight-episode first season, with stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson getting rave reviews for their performances. The concept of True Detective is to have a new cast, setting and story each season, allowing big-name stars the freedom to commit to only one season of the show.

True Detective creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto recently revealed what the second season would involve, teasing that it will feature "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system." It is entirely possible that Pitt could play one of these "bad men."

True Detective has not yet been renewed for season 2 by HBO, though considering the success of the show, it is likely going to be renewed soon.
