The first preview of season 2 of Ray Donovan captures an ugly confrontation between Ray and Mickey.

The clip focuses on Ray (Liev Schrieber) and Mickey (Jon Voight). In the aftermath of some unseemly actitvity, the son is seen accusingly asking his father what he'd done. In response Mickey just echoes back the same concern. "What did you do?" he asks Ray.

Mickey also suggests that Ray should stop digging old graves, many of which house skeletons of Mickey's criminal history.

"You're playing for the past" Mickey tells him. "You've got to move on."

Judging by his non-responsive stare, Ray doesn't seem to be taking Mickey's advice seriously.

The very short preview barely gives anything away but it does hint at the fact that the second season of the Showtime series is nigh. The date for the season premiere has not been announced yet but fans seem to be sating their withdrawal symptoms from leaked footage from the filming of the show in Los Angeles.

In a clip and images of a bloody scene featuring Liev Schrieber and an injured female co-star were revealed last month. Schrieber wore a steely expression as he escorted the actress who was fake bleeding from a gun wound to her arm. Dressed in a dark jacket and a pair of crisp jeans, Schrieber's grey shirt was smeared with red, as he held on to a bloodied towel. In character, he was seen wielding a hand gun and shooting at an unseen assailant. 

Schrieber was nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Ray this year.

Jon Voight won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, his role as Mickey Donovan, Ray's father on the show.
