Grey's Anatomy will return for season 11 but without two recently added cast members.

Arizona & Callie 'Making Their Way' But 'Not Uncomplicated'?

Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles will not come back next season, Deadline reported. Ferrer, who plays Dr. Leah Murphy, and Charles, aka Dr. Shane Ross, joined the ABC show last season as interns. The two were promoted to series regulars during season 10. Currently, there's no additional information regarding Shane and Leah's exit.

On the show, Ferrer's character is a second-year resident, who had relations with Alex (Justin Chambers) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). Leah is also the staffer who filed a complaint at Grey Sloan Memorial leading to the new rule that forbids superiors from dating their subordinates after Arizona left her and went back to Callie.

Derek's Sister to Return This Season

Shane, another resident, was romantically tied to Stephanie (Jerika Hinton) and Cristina (Sandra Oh). When operating on Alex's father, Shane had a psychiatric episode and thought he was operating on Heather, an intern who died. This caused a lot of tension between Alex and Shane.

Oh is another cast member leaving Grey's Anatomy after this season. (Get the full scoop on her departure here.)

The actress announced her decision to leave the ABC show back in August. The 42-year-old, who appeared on the show since season 1 premiered in 2005, said it was the right time to move on.

"Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go," Oh told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well."
