Actress Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Harris in the show, recently spoke with The Wall Street Journal, when she alluded to the idea that the final season may end up being very different from what fans may be expecting.

"I don't know if anything in the final season will turn out how we expected it to," stated Hendricks, "[Creator] Matt [Weiner] always challenges what people expect." According to reports, Weiner has indicated that the final season of the popular show set in the 1960s will feature Jon Hamm's character Don Draper, "facing the consequences of his actions."

Reportedly, in the upcoming final season, Don Draper will go commando again, as a "well-endowed" Hamm was seen on set back in November wearing "a pair of super-tight gray slacks...attract[ing] attention, yet again, to his rather large bulge." Likewise, E! Online shared that Don Draper will have more than his fair share of hippies.

Additionally, Pete Campbell and Ted Chaough will be opening a West Coast branch of Sterling Cooper in LA, and something that happened since viewers first met Don Draper will likely cast a shadow over the final episodes.

According to Yahoo! News, fans can expect to see a lot of maturity in this final season, as Weiner acknowledged, "There's a real growth over the course of this last season from what are the material concerns of your life to the immaterial concerns of your life. That's really what the ending of the show is about."

The final season of Mad Men premieres on Sunday, April 13 at 10 p.m. on AMC.
