After an intense Season 4, Shameless viewers assumed Jimmy / Steve / (now Jack?) was dead. But it looks like he's making a triumphant return, sneaking up to the Gallagher's with a presumably new girlfriend. "Jack, are you going to go inside?" she asks. He answers, "No, not tonight."

To keep his return a secret, not even the cast knew he was coming back. (Producers kept actor Justin Chatwin in a different hotel). Executive producer John Wells took the audience's cue when orchestrating a comeback:

"The audience kept telling us that they didn't know what happened at the end [of last season with the character], so we thought, 'I don't know, maybe we'll take advantage of that and go with it,'" as reported on Epoch Times on April 14.

Jimmy / Steve's return from the dead might have caused as much stir as the real Lazarus, as it became the highest-rated finale in the show's history with 1.93 million viewers.

Also, spoiler alert: According to Entertainment Weekly on April 14, "One of our Gallaghers (we're not saying who!) is going to be getting close with a skilled member of a rock n roll band. Get ready because this guy is extremely talented and we'll be seeing him multiple times throughout season five."
