On the second episode of Mad Men season 7, it seemed like Don Draper experienced the worst Valentine's Day in history. While it answered many of the questions viewers seemed to have following the season premiere on April 13, it shed lots of light on Draper's lonely lifestyle and hinted at what can be expected in episode 3, Field Trip.

Will Mad Men's Don Draper Ever Stop Deceiving?

Mad Men season 7, episode 2 revealed several intriguing storyline factors. These include the fact that Don had been hiding his suspension from Sterling Cooper & Partners (SC&P) from his family, Dawn Chambers is still in communication with Don, her previous boss, Don is eating Ritz crackers as a "meal," and he lives in a cockroach infested place.

Additionally, Don's chances of either returning to SC&P or landing a new job, are still up in the air. In the episode, he manages to get himself together and attend a networking lunch with someone from another agency, interested in hiring him. During the meeting, though, he is forced to address the gossip about being released from SC&P and brushes it off, stating, "I didn't know I was gonna be interrogated by the Hooterville telephone operator."

Conversely, the episode still left the audience questioning what Don's fate would be. While he told his eldest daughter Sally that it is SC&P's decision whether or not he will return to the agency, it seems as though his chances of returning to the firm are slim. According to the AMC synopsis for episode 3, Field Trip, "Don takes an unexpected trip; Betty dines with a friend; Harry promotes a cause; the partners consider an asset."
