In a recent interview, Kevin Spacey revealed that season 3 of House of Cards would get darker and joked about the insatiable extent of Frank Underwood's megalomania.

The actor spoke with E!Online on April 30 about the next season of the Netflix series in which he plays its vile and manipulative protagonist Frank.

When the publication asked him about what would satisfy Frank's political aspirations the actor suggested that he couldn't just stop at the highest office in the United States.

 "Pope?" he joked. "The presidency is one thing, but how about Pope Francis?"

The actor dished about how Frank was not going to have a change of heart and conscience any time soon and as the show ravels it will mostly be an exercise in "how dark that well is." Spacey suggested that he and the show's writer-producer Beau Willimon and producer David Fincher, they had a "desire to see just how dark that well is and how deep does it go. We have miles to go before we sleep."

Recently it was also revealed that the show would continue filming in Maryland, where it shot the forst two seasons, after having faced some issues with the State government. The show's producers and the government struck a deal and things are back on track now.
