Nashville is moving on to its third season where Scarlett will come back, and possibly go back to her original roots with no plans on becoming a star.

Nashville Receives Great News?

On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter posted an interview with series creator Callie Khouri, who dished on Scarlett's character in terms of how she didn't expect to become a famous singer; it just fell that way after she was trying to support her then-boyfriend Avery. But after everything that's happened the last season, including a breakdown, the creator made it sound like Scarlett will be similar to who she was in the first episodes while Juliette's character will change.

"We're taking her back to square one," Khouri said. "We've shown a lot of our characters grow up, even Juliette is evolving -- no matter how many mistakes she makes, she's still changing."

It also turns out that Maddie will have a bigger storyline the next season, and will likely make her way to the stage.

"It's really interesting because we get to actually see a microcosm of what it's like for somebody at her age to have that kind of talent," Khouri said. "I think it's pretty clear that she's a musician who sings from the heart, so she'd be much closer to her mother than she would to Juliette -- but who knows!"

Khouri also mentioned that despite any characters becoming regulars, there is a possibility that they won't be in every single episode.

Nashville Season 3 is expected to premiere this fall on ABC.
