The highly anticipated new book from "Harry Potter" writer JK Rowling now has a cover which is set for worldwide release in September.

"The Casual Vacancy" will be Rowling's first offering aimed primarily at adults.

The novel is set in the fictional English town of Pagford and deals with the unexplained death of a village resident.

"A seemingly English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war", according to the book's publishers, Little, Brown Book Group.

The cover for "The Casual Vacancy" is designed by Mario J Pulice and features an illustration and lettering by Joel Holland. The cover is mostly red with a yellow border, and shows what looks like an "X" marking a box.

Rowling, 46, has amassed a fortune from her seven Harry Potter books for children about a boy wizard. She is now worth over a $1 billion dollars. "The Casual Vacancy" is her first novel since her final Potter book was published in 2007.
