Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison recently discussed the status of her character Emma's relationship with Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and how it mirrors her own personal life.

Frozen Character Elsa Becomes Villain of Once Upon a Time Season 4?

In new report by TVLine, the publication asks Morrison about Emma's feelings towards Hook after the big kiss in the Season 3 finale.

"If you had said it to me when we first started the show, I never would have anticipated it - but the reality is that he's a very kindred spirit," Morrison explains. "They've both been through similar things, they're both survivors and they've both had to fight in order to literally just live. There's also something in them where they'll both go to great lengths to protect the people they care about - and sometimes they'll do really bad things to do that, but they both have really good hearts, so I think they see a lot of themselves in each other."

She also discussed how Emma is noticing how much Hook has changed and helped Emma become "the most powerful version of herself," allowing for her to have trust and respect for him.

"I know that in my own life, I have a strong reaction to people who empower me and say, 'You should be yourself, even if it means making some mistakes.'" Morrison said. "So the fact that he does that, and isn't at all put off by that, makes it a good place to start a relationship."

Fans of Emma and Hook's relationship, otherwise known as "CaptainSwan" will likely be pleased going into Season 4 as both characters are in a good place together.

Once Upon a Time Season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on ABC, though the network has not yet announced a premiere date. It will, however, return to its regular Sundays at 8 p.m. timeslot.
