Masters of Sex unfortunately doesn't return with Season 2 until July, but thankfully spoilers are starting to come out about Showtime's arguably sexiest program.

Sarah Silverman Joins Cast

So, what can fans expect for Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan)? Well, a whole lot of change.

"One of the things that's exciting about our show - daunting but exciting - is that every year is going to look pretty different," showrunner Michelle Ashford told Entertainment Weekly. "Bill and Virginia's careers changed and they went from total obscurity to the front of Time magazine. The sexual revolution was exploding, and Masters and Johnson were a huge part of that."

Why Did Chuck Lorre Apologize For His Show?

Ashford continued to say that Season 2 starts right where the Season 1 finale left off, with an unemployed Bill declaring his love for Virginia and some actual chemistry ignites between the pair.

Bill and Virginia continue to work together on their studies, as well. The pair reportedly works out of a hotel room using secret names and using themselves (of course) as the test subjects.

"We could have an affair," Virginia tells Bill in a new teaser trailer, "but what we have is so much more. We have the work."

Sheen's real life girlfriend Sarah Silverman was announced as part of Season 2 in April, too. The comedienne will star in a recurring guest role as a character named Helen. Silverman recently starred in Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die in The West.

Masters of Sex returns to Showtime on July 13 at 10 p.m.
