Wahlberg said that this would be a new experience for die-hard fans and that they should expect to "be blown away." It was also revealed that this film was a new beginning and while it is still of the franchise it will kickstart a new trilogy. Earlier this year Paramount announced that Transformers: Age of Extinction will release on June 27 and that the date for Terminator 5 has been pushed to July 1 from the initial date of June 26.

Wahlberg also spoke to the LA Times about the fact that Transformers 4was not a sequel and that he has never done a sequel in his career.

"Some people think of this as a sequel," he said. "We thought of it more as a stand-alone thing. I've never done a sequel."
