Though they weren't responsible for his death this time, both Sami (Allison Sweeney) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) may still have to answer to their previous attempt to murder Nick on Days of Our Lives.

Gabi's Second Confession Implicates Kate and Sami?

Before Nick's brief return to town that saw him manipulating Gabi (Camila Banus) and convincing her to leave Salem with her daughter, Sami and Kate had been involved in an attempt to kill him. After he nearly raped Gabi in the park, the three women had teamed up and knocked him unconscious before throwing his body in the river. He was presumed dead until his return.

Now, after he was shot to death by Gabi, some of the truth has come out about the previous attempt on Nick's life -- and Marlena (Deidre Hall) will lay into both Sami and Kate for their roles. She could be shocked by the fact that her daughter specifically was capable of attempted murder -- and had teamed up with her bitter rival to do the job.

Eric Learns Of Nicole's Deception?

Meanwhile, Nicole's (Arianne Zucker) life will fall even more into pieces as she tries to cope with the end of her engagement to Eric (Greg Vaughan). Thanks to Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), he learned that Nicole had destroyed evidence he had been drugged the night he had sex with Kristen -- which would have allowed him back into the priesthood -- just as he and Nicole were planning on eloping.

Now, Eric will ask Nicole to stop wearing her engagement ring, officially signaling the end for the couple.
