True Blood comes back June 22 and one familiar face will be returning for the whole season. Tara Buck, who plays Ginger, was upped from recurring star to season regular for the show's final episodes.

"When True Blood came along, I said I know this girl," Buck told Huffington Post. "I came in for a guest star on one episode and felt I knew Ginger's whole history, her back-story, who her parents must have been. All these quirks about her."

When Buck arrived for the last season she was surprised to learn that the writers had given Ginger a similar back-story to what she had already imagined. "I arrived on set and got my first script and realized they had created a full story, similar and completely different in some ways. There are some wonderful surprises and a lot of humor. It's off the hook funny."

More Information On Eric Straight From Alexander Skarsgard

Ginger is part of Team Eric (played by Alexander Skarsgard), but wouldn't reveal how he lived past last season's finale. "I'm their pet so I belong to them," Buck said about Eric and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten). Skarsgard already revealed that Eric is in "wet snow" in the beginning of Season 7.

Although not much has been known about Ginger, fans can get ready to learn a lot more.

"It's the payoff for all the things you wondered about Ginger. What's she doing there?" Buck said. "What keeps her there? Why do they keep her there? What is her relationship with Pam and Eric? I think the fans will be sufficiently satiated this season."

True Blood comes back on HBO at 9 p.m. on June 22.
