It looks as though the World Cup's most valuable player is back as Paul the "psychic" Octopus is predicting the winners of the tournament's matches, but this time through Google doodles.

In the new Google doodle, a halo-wearing Paul, who passed away four years ago, sits on a cloud while struggling to decide whether Belgium or Algeria will win their upcoming match in Estadio Mineiro, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. With the innovative doodle, Internet users can click on Paul and obtain information on match time, match preview and news about the game this evening.

Paul the Octopus rose to fame during the UEFA Euro 2008 but it wasn't until the 2010 World Cup in South Africa that he became an international star when he correctly predicted the German team's fate for each of their games. When he predicted that Spain would win over Germany during the semi-finals, he received cult status when he was offered extra security cover by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Zapatero and Industry Minister Miguel Sebastian.

In the 2008 UEFA championship, he also correctly predicted the outcome of four out of six of Germany's matches.

Paul the Octopus lived in a tank at the Sea Life Center in Oberhausen, Germany before his death in October 2010.

The Algeria vs. Belgium game kicks off at 9:30 p.m. EST/PST this evening.
