Shockwaves are still being felt with the revelation that Fast and the Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez had managed to snag Neighbors star and heartthrob Zac Efron for a new boyfriend, but critics of the unlikely pair are being warned that there is genuinely nothing to worry about concerning the romance.

One such critic of the romance has been celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who appeared on The Wendy Williams Show July 8 to dish about the romance-and he wasted no time expressing his concerns that hard-partier Rodriguez could be the wrong person for the sober actor.

"I'm concerned about this. I'm concerned because Michelle has a reputation for being hard-partying...and Zac as we know, has been to rehab, has issues," Hilton said. "I don't know if she's going to be a good influence on him."

Efron entered a rehab facility last year, and was reportedly treated for issues related to both alcohol and cocaine.

However, the friend they were vacationing with, Italian entrepreneur Gianluca Vacchi, defended the pair after seeing Hilton's appearance on the show, negating the claims that Rodriguez wasn't going to have a positive effect on her new beau's life.

"Ciao Wendy, Ciao Perez @perezhilton, it was funny to look at this TV episode thank you. Don't be concerned, Z and Mich have a mutual healthy influence each other and they are very cute together," he captioned an Instagram post of Hilton's appearance on the show. "Anyway, you are invited in Italy at my house whenever you like, it would be a pleasure. Ciao, take care and enjoy."

Regardless of Vacchi's assurances that the two are good influences on one another, Williams did express that she doesn't think the two are genuinely dating anyway, and that their relationship didn't strike her as one with potential.

"I don't think this relationship is going to last," she said on her show. "I think this is just an Italian hook-up, just a little something-something."
