Red (Kate Mulgrew) went through a lot of drama in the second season of Netflix's Orange is the New Black, but things will take an unexpected turn for her in Season 3.

Mulgrew spoke with E! Online in a new spoiler report about Red and teased that her journey in Season 3 would be "unpredictable" to say the least.

"I can tease this much, whatever journey you think Red is going to take, it will not be what you think," she teased. "This one is utterly unpredictable."

This could plausibly mean anything, but it is possible that this means that Red will not necessarily be rising in influence in Season 3. Her arc in Season 2 found her losing favor with many of her supposed friends as Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) became a huge force in the prison. Red gradually redeemed herself through the Season 2 finale, which featured her recovering from Vee's "slocking" of her.

Mulgrew is now an Emmy nominee for her work as Red in the prison "dramedy." She is nominated under the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Four of her co-stars were also nominated this year, including Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Uzo Aduba as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, Laverne Cox as Sophia Burset and Natasha Lyonne as Nicky Nichols all for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

Orange is the New Black Season 3 does not have a specific Netflix release date yet, but it will likely be returning in Summer 2015. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on the site.
