Saturday Night Live is shaking up its cast, as it often does in the offseason.

Six New Cast Members Join SNL

Deadline reported on Tuesday that both Noel Wells and John Milhiser will not be returning to the show for next season. They join Brooks Wheelan, who was let go on Monday.

Due to a fair amount of departures recently, Saturday Night Live added several new performers this past season, including the addition of Sasheer Zamata during the season to alleviate murmurs about the lack of diversity in the cast. Zamata, along with fellow first year performers Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney, will be back next season, while the future of Mike O'Brien is yet to be determined. O'Brien worked as a writer on the show before being promoted to featured player, so it is possible he will just go back to writing.

Sasheer Zamata Has Positive SNL Debut

Milhiser and Wells, alongside Wheelan, were also featured players, and none of them made much of an impact this past season. Nasim Pedrad, who has been on Saturday Night Live for five seasons, is also leaving, but she is going of her own accord. Pedrad is in the cast of FOX's upcoming sitcom Mulaney, starring John Mulaney, a show that is being produced by Lorne Michaels, whose connection to SNL does not need to be explained.

The cast of the show was fairly sizable for the 2013-2014 season, and it remains to be seen if the show will look to replace all the departing cast members, or if they will perhaps go with a slightly smaller cast for next season.
