Raised primarily by her adoptive father (now deceased), Liz (Megan Boone) originally lived with her allegedly biological parents. While her father disappeared following a childhood fire and is believed dead - at least according to Raymond 'Red' Reddington (James Spader) - Liz states that her mother died later on.

However, now that a (seemingly) dying Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) told Liz that her father is still alive, she will begin to wonder if her family was hiding even more secrets.

"If the part about my dad wasn't true, what is the truth, if any, that I need to learn about my mom?" are some of the questions Liz will start to ask during season 2, executive producer John Eisendrath told TV Guide.

Meanwhile, the looming threat of Berlin will also keep Liz and Red on their toes. A brief time jump between the series' freshman finale and the season 2 premiere will not detract from Red's hunt for the mysterious criminal, according to TV Guide.
