Cote de Pablo isn't returning to NCIS, the show that made her a notable name, but she is returning to CBS.

Cote de Pablo 'NCIS' Departure News

As Carter Matt reported on Wednesday, de Pablo will be starring in The Dovekeepers, a new miniseries from Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, who were also behind the miniseries The Bible, and Burnett of course has his own history with CBS, being one of the producers and creators of Survivor.

De Pablo portrayed Ziva David for 189 episodes of NCIS, the long running CBS show that is always among the highest rated shows season in and season out, but left the show approximately one year ago. The Dovekeepers is planned for 2015 at the moment. The story of the show focuses on four women living in ancient Israel around the year 70 AD. The women are apparently forced out of Jerusalem by some Romans, and De Pablo plays a character named Shirah, who is described as "a single mother who showcases strength and also plenty of insight." That's not exactly a ton to go on, but given Downey and Burnett's other projects, and the time and place of The Dovekeepers, there could perhaps be a religious angle to all of this.

The Bible Sequel News

In addition to The Dovekeepers, de Pablo is in the upcoming 2014 movie The 33, which is about the 2010 Chilean miners incident. De Pablo is of Chilean descent, which makes her an apt choice for such a film, although therefore a slightly stranger choice for playing a woman in ancient Israel. At least this puts to bed any rumors of dissent between de Pablo and CBS after her decision to leave the main drama.
