Earl Simmons, who is known as the the rapper DMX, was hospitalized for a concussion from a bike accident.

The 41-year-old lost control of the four-wheel bike he was riding down a hill near his home in South Carolina.

TMZ was the first to report about DMX's accident and the rapper told TMX exclusively that he flipped over and lucky for him, he landed on his backside and not his head.

Simmons told TMZ he doesn't remember anything else from the accident except the lights from the ambulance and he doesn't know when he will be released from the hospital.

DMX wrote messages on his Twitter account Saturday to let his fans know he was ok. He also posted a picture of himself wearing a hospital gown.

"IM GOOD!", he wrote with a picture attached of him in the hospital bed.

"FLIPPED MY F*CKN FOUR WHEELER OVER!" he later tweeted to explain why he was in the hospital.

According to TMZ, this is the second time this year the rapper has been hospitalized. DMX dealt with a bout of food poisoning back in January.

"I'm good, just some food poisoning. Thanks for the support. R'S UP!," he tweeted January 26.

Later this year DMX plans on releasing "Undisputed," his first album in six years.

In 2009, MTV reported that the rapper had taken a break from the industry in order to study the bible. The rapper had allegedly claimed that he intended to pursue preaching in New Jersey and was able to complete a gospel album before he was incarcerated after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.

Simmons has also been an actor of films such as "Belly", "Romeo Must Die", "Exit Wounds", and "Cradle 2 The Grave."

He was arrested twice in 2010 for reckless driving and drinking against his probation regulations while at a concert and last year, he was arrested for speeding, according to The Christian Post
