FX's Sons of Anarchy is set to debut its final season in September and the show's producers and cast convened at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend to give fans a slew of teasers for what's ahead for the motorcycle drama.

The Cosby Show Star Set For 'Sticky' Role in Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy creator and showrunner Kurt Sutter attended Comic-Con Sunday along with the show's primary cast, sans Charlie Hunnam (Jax). Speaking on Jax, Sutter promised to the audience that the main character would be very driven in the final season, perhaps more than ever before.

"This season will be the most proactive for Jax," Sutter revealed at the SOA panel, via Entertainment Weekly. "He's driven, with a singular purpose. Rather than being a reactor to chaos, he will be the inciter. It's almost like writing a brand new character."

While Sutter and company have only finished with half of the season, script-wise, he said that he knows where things will end up for Jax in the series finale.

"I know where I want my hero to be emotionally and thematically at the end of the season." he said.

Sutter also discussed the rumors of a Sons of Anarchy prequel series and what it would be about. He said that the prequel would center on "origins, and involve John Teller and Piney Winston." While he admitted that "conversations are ongoing" for a potential prequel, nothing official has been decided for it.

The final season of Sons of Anarchy is set to begin Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
