Liam Payne just revealed that songwriter Jamie Scott was going to open for the band on a couple of dates. Last week, Payne tweeted to his followers, "Really exciting news @itsjamiescott will be supporting us in Dallas and St. Louis Can't wait go check him out."

Scott has been working with One Direction for a long time. He collaborated with the band on the songs Story Of My Life, You & I,  Midnight Memories and More Than This. Scott also worked with music producer Tommy D under the name Graffiti6.

"It was all very scary for us because we were a young rock band type of thing," 5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin told Radio Disney (via People) in an interview set to air August 4. "We were very confused by why we would go on tour with One Direction in the first place because it was so different." Irwin said that he knew going on 1D would let more fans hear their music, however.

The 1D North American tour continues throughout 2014.
