There are four comedians remaining on Last Comic Standing, but beyond that there has been another competition going on.

Last Comic Standing Like Show Being Produced By NBC

There has also been a Comic Comeback competition going on, where viewers were able to vote online for whom they wanted to win in any given week. On Sunday, Carter Matt reported that Alingon Mitra has won the Comic Comeback contest.

Mitra was involves in every challenge round within this competition, and he won every single time. Now, after five weeks of competition, Mitra has won the chance to perform on the season finale of Last Comic Standing. That gives him one last chance to be seen by the show's viewing audience, which certainly can't hurt his career.

While congratulations are in order for Mitra, there is still the little matter of who will be the titular last comic standing. The four remaining standup comedians are Nikki Carr, Rod Man, Lachlan Patterson, and Joe Machi. Whichever comedian emerges victorious will get $250,000 dollars and an NBC development deal. Last Comic Standing returned this year for its eighth season after not having aired a season since 2010. Instead of having open competition, as they had in the past, 100 comedians were selected to begin with, and the show has proceeded from there until now, when there are only four standups left. The finale will air August 14 at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. There will be some more eliminations before then, and, of course, Mitra will be there too, having earned the chance at redemption.
