As fans wait for the highly anticipated seventh season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta to premiere on Bravo, one of its outspoken stars NeNe Leakes has thrown a little shade at her fellow cast members.

Leakes graces the September 2014 issue of Pose magazine and it was inevitable that she would be asked about her co-stars.

The Glee star has always prided herself on being "real," but when it comes to the ladies she shares the small screen with on the Bravo show, she doesn't seem to believe they hold up the same standard.

She said, "A lot of these girls come on the show and create a show that is in their head. I come on the show and I play NeNe because it's a reality show. These other girls come on as characters," she said. "If you ask me to be real, I am going to be real and you may not like it. Be sure you want to ask me because I am going to tell you."

While she is pleased to say she is authentic and genuine, Leakes, who has had screaming matches with nearly all of her cast members including Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore and her on-again-off-again friend Kim Zolciak, also confessed that she understands why her delivery is seen as a bit cruel.

"I do think that being real can come off as being harsh," she admitted. "I have to always think before I say things because I am a straight shooter. I don't think it is being mean. I think it's the delivery that makes it mean. Sometimes I just shoot and move on. I don't really know any other way to do it, but I am learning that sometimes everything doesn't need to be said."
