The latest actress to join the ranks of Emmy Award winning Best Supporting Actress' in a Comedy Series is none other than Allison Janney for CBS' new comedy series, Mom.

Janney won the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the August 25, 2014 ceremony, beating out her competition, which included performances by Mayim Bialik for CBS' other big comedy series, The Big Bang Theory, as well as Julie Bowen for Modern Family, Kate Mulgrew for Orange is the New Black, Kate McKinnon for Saturday Night Live, and Anna Chlumsky for Veep.

This was Janney's first nomination for Mom, which premiered in the 2013-2014 season, but she has previously won four Emmys for her work as a Lead Actress in a Drama Series on The West Wing. This was also her second Emmy win this year, as she also picked up an award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series on Masters of Sex.

Her competition was comprised of several other previously nominated actresses, including three-time nominee Bialik and two-time nominee Chlumsky. Mulgrew and McKinnon were first time nominees. Bowen is a five-time nominee, and won the award twice before in 2011 and 2012.

Congratulations on the win to Janney.
