'So You Think You Can Dance' Recap, Jason Mraz To Perform Season Finale

Same sex dances have not been something the show wanted to move forward with in the past, with senior producer Deena Katz stating on Identities.Mac, "This is not a social dancing show, it's a dancing competition. A man should dance with a woman, no matter what your sexual orientation, in ballroom, if I'd put Chaz [Bono] with Mark [Ballas], for example, it would have looked like I was trying to make controversy. We're not setting people up on dates."

The Season Finale that aired on Wednesday, August 27th did in fact feature the final four doing same sex dances. In order for their to be a new season, the ratings and critics have to agree for season 12 to happen. After the finale showcasing the never before done same sex dances, there might be more for the show to offer with new rules on the same sex performances.
