X-Men is hitting a new stride in popularity thanks to the superhero craze and the massive success of their latest film, and it seems like one of the movie's breakout stars could be heading to the small screen to lead another team of X-Men.

Deadpool Could Be Part Of The X-Men Cinematic Universe Moving Forward

FilmDivider broke open a rumor on Wednesday that surfaced earlier this week that Fox was developing an X-Men or X-Factor television series that would head to CBS. The site added that one star from the most recent movie, Days of Future Past, would make sense in the leading role: Evan Peters.

Peters, who played scene-stealing Quicksilver, has balanced television and movie work well so far in his career as he has starred in American Horror Story, but also made time for parts in the X-Men and Kick-Ass franchises. The transition to another television show in between his movie endeavors would not be completely out of the question.

He also would be the best character to make the move as he was one of fans' favorite parts of the last movie, but having him less moving forward wouldn't cripple the franchise. By putting him at the head of a new series, it would allow for more of his quirky moments, but also give him a starring vehicle alongside a host of other obscure but not life changing mutants.

The site added that the show could be more like X-Factor and have mutants solving mysteries each episode, which would buy into the crime drama market, but could also capitalize on the superhero craze with crazy characters, much like Fox is doing with Gotham.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
