White Collar opened up its final season with several surprises, but viewers won't see the ultimate effects until the season 6 finale.

'White Collar' Season 6 Spoilers: What Is Neal After? Jeff Eastin Explains Con's Final Line

Rebecca's death came as a major shock to Neal Caffrey, and the con artist will feel the effects more and more as the season wears on.

"It's one of those things that will probably be subtle," explained series creator Jeff Eastin, according to TV Guide. "I don't know if everybody will catch it, but, without spoiling anything, once you see the finale, you'll see how that does really heavily affect Neal."

While the old Caffrey often couldn't care less who his actions effected, his time with the FBI has taught him different. It appears Rebecca's death and his time with the Pink Panthers will challenge his new view.

"Neal has a heart and what Peter has sort of given Neal throughout the series I think is a soul and what's he really learned from Peter is the value of friendship and the value of putting others above yourself," Eastin told TV Guide. "What he realizes with Rebecca's death is that his actions can ultimately affect other people and it's sort of driven home there."
