On Aug. 7, Team Russa's Ivan Ukhov competed in the men's high jump finals and ended up taking home the gold, but that was not the only part of his performance that day that got people talking.

Right before he was about do his fifth jump, Ukhov, 26, could not find his shirt, which he had removed only minutes before while waiting for scores from his previous jump.

With the crowd waiting for the athlete to show them how if he was a contender for the gold, Ukhov searched frantically for his uniform top - looking under seats and searching in his gym bag. With no time left to keep everyone waiting, he ended up wearing a spare blue shirt lying on the benches and pinned on a bib that was not his originally.

Even with all this, the jumper got a solid 2.33 meters in the air in his fifth jump, eventually taking home the gold on Tuesday.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the athlete has had an "eccentric" past in previous competitions as well. In a 2008 meet, Ukhov allegedly tried to compete while drunk - clumsily approaching the bar and collapsing onto the mat, making him unable to perform.

The next gold medal for men's jumping will be given at the triple jump finals on Aug. 9 at 2:20 p.m. Eastern time. Visit NBC's official site for the 2012 Olympics to watch live coverage of all the events.
