The final three episodes of FX's Sons of Anarchy will obviously have some unexpected surprises, but it will also have some fitting conclusions, according to one of the show's executive producers.

'Sons of Anarchy' Actress Drea de Matteo Talks 'Beautiful' Final Episode & 'Dream' Ending

Sons of Anarchy EP and frequent director Paris Barclay spoke with Yahoo recently about the final arc of episodes for the motorcycle drama. Among the plot-lines being addressed as the series concludes are the identity of the SAMCRO rat and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) finding out about Gemma (Katey Sagal) murdering Tara (Maggie Siff).

As it turns out, Jax determining what to do about his manipulative mother might not exactly be the conclusion of the story.

'Sons of Anarchy' Finale Won't Have 'A Dry Eye In The House'

"It may take a minute to find out whether or not this is really true," Barclay said, of Jax finding out the truth about his mother. "And Gemma still has room to scramble. She's a resourceful woman. It could be that this is not as obviously the end of things, though some people seem to think it is on Twitter."

Barclay revealed that fans will definitely learn who the SAMCRO rat is, and it won't be pretty.

"We're going to find out who the rat is, and it's going to be unpleasant," he said. As for the speculation online about who the rat might be, he admitted that some are actually right.

"Some people have figured it out. If you read an Agatha Christie mystery, sometimes it's not fair that the person who does [the crime] comes out of the blue," he said. "That's not going to happen here. It's going to be somebody with logical access to the information, but it's going to be someone that you probably would not think would do this."

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
