The Librarian's Jake Stone may throw a punch every now and then, but Christian Kane won't get to showcase his fighting skills when he plays the Oklahoman genius.

Unlike Kane's Leverage role, Stone knows far more about art history than hand-to-hand combat. That doesn't mean the new Librarian won't get into a few scrapes, he'll just look slightly more inept doing it.

"This guy is so much different from what I've played before...the problem with me is that I've always played the bad guy, I've always played the dude that can throw punches," Kane told The Examiner. "This guys not like that. He will fight you, but he doesn't know."

When Dean Devlin (Leverage) offered Kane the role, there were two stipulations. One, Kane would have to take scissors to his notoriously long hair, and two, the actor would have to forget everything he knew about fighting.

For Kane, suddenly having to unlearn years of training was not particularly easy.

"That was a very tough little walk for me," Kane conceded.
