Kris Humphries married Kim Kardashian one year ago today on Aug. 20, 2011. Last week, on the heels of what should have been their one year anniversary, Humphries' mother filed for divorce, according to TMZ.

Obtained documents filed by Humphries' mother, Debra, did not reveal the reason for divorce, however, the website predicted that the proceedings could turn out interesting because Humphries' father, William, owns several Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurants in their hometown of Minnesota.

The couple has two daughters in addition to Kris - Krystal and Kaela.

Kardashian filed for divorce from the basketball player on Oct. 31, 2011, after 72 days of marriage. Humphries requested an annulment in December 2011, stating that the marriage was a fraud and that he would rather have a legal separation than a final divorce.

On Wed. Aug. 15, Kardashian's attorney Laura Wasserman attended a divorce court on behalf of the reality star while she was in Hawaii on vacation with her boyfriend Kanye West.

"To say I'm frustrated is an understatement," said Wasserman. "It's expensive. And I'm at a loss to figure out what the holdup is. They had a prenup and were married 72 days."

Wasserman told the judge that Humphries' legal team attempted to depose Kanye West - that someone sent a mysterious box with a deposition request for West to Kardashian's door, even though Wasser said she would have gladly offered the name of West's personal attorney.

Humphries' lawyers said at Wednesday's hearing that they still aren't ready for trial. The next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 28.
