Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) and Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) love story could soon take a dark and twisted turn on Days of Our Lives.

The new lovebirds have already weathered their fair share of scandal because of Aiden's past with his wife Meredith-who was found dead in Portland, with Aiden accused as her murderer. He has since cleared up the story of what happened with Hope, though his wife's best friend, Bree (Marie Wilson) has continuously tried giving Hope warning about him. Now however, Hope could learn that her beau really isn't what she believes him to be.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, actress Julie Tolivar has been cast to premiere on the NBC soap beginning in February-as a character named Meredith, leading to speculation that she will actually be Aiden's presumed-dead wife.

If Meredith does arrive in Salem, it could mean she faked her own death to escape the violence she knew Aiden was capable of in his quest to get his hands on her family fortune-and her appearance will also force Aiden to begin being more honest with Hope, because if his arrive appears back from the dead, she could prove his lies and expose him as a fraud who is only after Hope's fortune now.

If Aiden is proven to be a fraud with Hope, it could cause her to think back on her decision to divorce Bo so she could be with Aiden-and may make her regret her decision.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
